My rating: 4.5 Stars
Preceding Book: The Young Elites
Succeeding Book: The Midnight Star

In The Young Elites, Adelina was an anti-hero, in this second installment, she’s leaning more to the dark side.

She’s losing control of her powers and the people around her. She relinquishes her dreams of being loved and accepted for being powerful and feared. The voices whisper in her head turning her against the only person she’s ever had. In the end, she does get to fulfill one of her childhood dreams, standing at the top of their staircase.

β€œIn the silence, I sit alone on my throne and wait eagerly for all the satisfaction and triumph to hit me. I wait, and wait, and wait.

But it doesn’t come.”
